Fright Before Christmas
Fright Before Christmas, introduced in Rebirth Issue 2 Edition 3, is a modified version of the Presents Winter Event. During the Fright Before Christmas, Mysterious Gifts appear throughout Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, courtesy of Gamester and a festive Eochai has been spotted in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
Upon opening a present, a hero or villain would find that if they were "nice," they would enjoy a nice reward. If they were "naughty," however, they would find themselves surrounded by Halloween enemies in festive attire, trying to push Halloween a little more into the winter holiday season!
"Naughty" presents spawn groups of festive Trick or Treat enemies, whose spawn size is based on team members. Use caution when opening presents away from teammates. These enemies can drop both Candy Cane Salvage, and Halloween Salvage.
- Main Article: Giant Monsters
The Giant Monster from Croatoa, Eochai, spawns in most zones (including the City of Villains zones) in both an orange and white variety. There are Event-specific badges for their defeat (which are different than the badges for the defeat of the regular Croatoan Eochai or standard Halloween Eochai).
In 2021 the White Eochai was not spawning and so needed to be manually spawned by gamemasters.
Badges are awarded for logging in during the event, defeating the festive enemies that jump out of boxes and the two Eochai GMs.

- Back Alley Brawler Halloween Gloves
These are rubber Back Alley Brawler gloves, perfect for a Halloween costume. Their manufacture makes it difficult to perform simple tasks like opening doors. To earn a reward, Heroes can deliver this to Annah in Croatoa, while Villains can visit Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago and Praetorians can go to Acantha in Imperial City.
- Hamidon Halloween Costume
The most popular Halloween costume among the kids in Paragon City is that of Hamidon. This simple costume is made from coloured plastic wrap. Many kids like to put action figures of their favourite heroes inside the wrap, pretending they are 'raiding' for 'Hami-O's'. To earn a reward, Heroes can deliver this to Annah in Croatoa, while Villains can visit Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago and Praetorians can go to Acantha in Imperial City.
- Lord Recluse Halloween Helmet
This is a Halloween mask of the infamous Lord Recluse. It's made of smelly rubber, and wearing it makes you all sweaty and hard to find your breath. To earn a reward, Heroes can deliver this to Annah in Croatoa, while Villains can visit Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago and Praetorians can go to Acantha in Imperial City.
- Statesman Halloween Mask
This is a Halloween mask of the famous hero Statesman. It's made of cheap plastic, and the flimsy string probably won't last through the night. To earn a reward, Heroes can deliver this to Annah in Croatoa, while Villains can visit Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago and Praetorians can go to Acantha in Imperial City.
