Overview

Issue 16 introduced just a handful of new badges, but saw the reduction in requirements for many previous badges. The reductions were an extension of the Developers' stated intent in Issue 15 of making future badges less dependent on aberrant behavior (i.e., AFK farming) to earn.

For both Heroes and Villains, it added 2 Achievement badges. In total, 2 badges were introduced for Heroes and Villains upon the release of Issue 16. An additional 2 Accolade badges, 3 Veteran badge, and 7 Event badges were added later, for a grand total of 14 badges during Issue 16.

NOTE: Issue 21 changed the requirements for Veteran Rewards badges. The Veteran badges listed below are linked to the current versions as part of the Paragon Rewards Program.

Achievement Badges

There was one Hero/Villain Achievement badge added with Issue 16.

Master of the Imperious Task Force   Complete the Imperious Task Force with No Temporary Powers and Zero Team Defeats


There was one Hero-only Achievement badge added with Issue 16.

Master of the 5th Column Task Force   Complete the Dr. Kahn Task Force with No Temporary Powers and Zero Team Defeats


There was one Villain-only Achievement badge added with Issue 16.

Master of the 5th Column Strike Force   Complete the Barracuda Strike Force with No Temporary Powers and Zero Team Defeats



Changed Requirements

Achievement Badges

The following Hero/Villain Achievement badges had their requirements changed with Issue 16.

Demolitionist   Badge requirement was reduced from planting 25 to planting 10 bombs on the Rikti Mothership during Rikti Ship Raids
Nigh Indestructible   Reduced from enduring 100,000,000 to enduring 25,000,000 points of damage
Invulnerable   Reduced from enduring 500,000,000 to enduring 50,000,000 points of damage
Immortal   Reduced from enduring 1,000,000,000 to enduring 100,000,000 points of damage
The Unwavering / Punch Drunk   Reduced from paying off 100,000 to paying off 50,000 debt
The Unyielding / Unbroken   Reduced from paying off 400,000 to paying off 100,000 debt
The Unbroken Spirit / Relentless   Reduced from paying off 800,000 to paying off 200,000 debt

Born in Battle   Changed from earning the Exterminator, Lanista, Pirate, Primal Instinct, Raider, Triumphant, Swashbuckler, and Unbreakable badges

Back from the Future   Reduced from capturing 1000 to capturing 100 pillboxes in Recluse's Victory


Invention Badges

The following Hero/Villain Invention badge had its requirement changed in Issue 16.

Fabricator   Reduced from crafting 10,000 to crafting 2000 enhancements


Defeat Badges

The following Hero/Villain Defeat badges had their requirements changed in Issue 16.

Coldblooded / Coldhearted   Reduced from defeating 250 to defeating 100 Circle of Thorns Hordelings or Hellfrosts
Illusionist   Reduced from defeating 500 summoned Illusionists to defeating 100 summoned Illusionists, Phantasms and Dark Servants from Master Illusionists
Protectorate / Devourer of Earth   Reduced from defeating 500 to defeating 100 Devouring Earth emanators
Untouchable   Changed to defeating 100 The Family bosses, including Marcone versions
Venomous   Reduced from defeating 200 to defeating 50 Arachnos Toxic Tarantulas

Gas Trap Base Defense   Reduced from spending 30 hours mezzed to spending 6 hours
Repulsor Base Defense   Reduced from 1,000,000 debt to 500,000 debt
Emergency Capacitor Plans   Reduced from 2,000,000 debt to 1,000,000 debt
Auto-Doc Plans   Reduced from 5,000,000 damage healed to 1,000,000 damage healed
Robo-Surgery Plans   Reduced from 25,000,000 damage healed to 2,000,000 damage healed

Accolade Badges

There were two Hero/Villain Accolade badges added after Issue 16 was released.

Hell and Back   Earn the Dark Fiend, Hell Hath No Fury, Terror, Monster Masher, and Monstrous badges
Vigilant / Determined   Maintain an active account from August 15, 2009 to November 15, 2009


Veteran Badges

There were three Hero/Villain Veteran badges added after Issue 16 was released.

Enduring   Have an active account for 66 months
Genuine   Have an active account for 69 months
Distinguished   Have an active account for 72 months


Event Badges

There were seven Hero/Villain Event badges added after Issue 16 was released.

Dark Fiend   Destroy the Banner of Fiends during the Halloween Event 2009
Hell Hath No Fury   Destroy the Banner of Scorn during the Halloween Event 2009
Terror   Destroy the Banner of Terror during the Halloween Event 2009
Monster Masher   Destroy the Banner of Mayhem during the Halloween Event 2009
