Contact Introduces

Multiple contact options
Some contacts of mine have been angling for an introduction.
Single contact option
One of my contacts would like to meet you.

Level 40-44

If you are looking for someone who has information on Nemesis, you should speak to Maxwell Christopher. He is a high level FBSA agent. Maxwell has access to Invention and Gadget enhancements.

Mister Christopher is a good agent, even if he is a bit gruff.

Indigo is the code name for one half of the most successful team of super spies that our government has. She has dedicated herself to bringing down the Malta Group. She usually works with mutants and can provide Focus and Genetic Alteration Enhancements.

Indigo and her partner Crimson are very different personalities, but they make a deadly team.

Janet Kellum is a brainiac FBSA agent. I have heard that she is high on Countess Crey's hit list. She likes working with science heroes, and she has access to Invention and Genetic Alteration Enhancements.

Janet won't steer you wrong. Just watch your step, because she's determined to go after the countess.

Tina Macintyre works for the Portal Corporation. She has the most current information on the trouble out on Peregrine Island caused by unstable dimensional technology. She can offer Gadget and Relic Enhancements.

The dimensional instabilities on Peregrine Island are getting worse by the day, Character. Be ready for anything.

Angus McQueen is an FBI agent who the Rikti attempted to convert while he was investigating their organization. He has more information on the Rikti that no one can match... or confirm. He also has Relic, Focus, Gadget, Invention, and Genetic Alteration enhancements.

Angus was not unaffected by the Rikti, but he managed to resist a transformation that few have been able to.

Level 45-50

Harvey Maylor is a loudmouth and a sensationalist, but he is on the hot on the trail [sic] of the Carnival of Shadows. He loves to work with heroes, especially ones skilled with magic, and can provide Relic and Focus Enhancements.

I hope you don't mind being on the cover of the Paragon Tattler, Character.

Information

Soap Star

Madeleine Casey isn't a super-powered hero, but she plays one on TV. Madeleine is the face of Live Wire, the feisty electrical blaster on the popular soap opera, The Super Days. Her viewers have a lot of faith in her, and every once in a while she receives a fan letter that requires a truly heroic response. If there's one thing Madeleine hates, it's letting a fan down. She can't hit the streets as Live Wire, but she can call upon one of her many hero friends to save the day. Madeleine spends a lot of time networking, and she's become quite adept at pumping her contacts for information about the nefarious goings-on in Paragon City. She's come to think of the primped and polished media darling as her secret identity; the real Madeleine, she feels, is a wily snoop who truly has the heart of a hero.

Find out who is helping the Carnival

Briefing

Ever since the Carnival of Shadows came to town, it seems as though we can't trust anyone. Every day, I hear of another politician or celebrity who's joined forces with the Carnival. Well, it looks like there's another one. Sources tell me that a member of the State Senate is actually working for the Carnival! The trouble is, we don't know which one! That's where you come in. I need you to hit the streets and see if you can dig up some dirt.

Mission Acceptance

You can usually find the Carnival's minions in Peregrine Island. Perhaps they can tell you what's what.

Unnecessary Solicitation

We need to know who is secretly working for the Carnival.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Unmask Carnival collaborator
    • Defeat 45 Carnies

You found a list of names.

List of names
This list of Carnival collaborators is extensive. It seems that half the governmental bodies in the city have a collaborator sitting in their midst. One of the names is that of Tobias Werner, a state Senator who makes his home in Paragon City.

Debriefing

Whoa, Character, you got all that I asked for and more! I'm a little dismayed by the sheer number of names you found. It seems the Carnival has more allies than I ever realized!

Attend the Carnival's next performance

Briefing

No matter how many times I try to get the word out about the Carnival's evil tricks, some people just won't listen. They're still the most popular show in town! I picked up a flyer about their next performance at the supermarket today; it promises 'A Night to end all Nights.' I don't know about you, but I don't like the sound of that statement. I think you better attend the Carnival's next performance and make sure things don't get too out of hand.

Mission Acceptance

I had a feeling you'd say yes. That's why I already bought you a ticket!

Unnecessary Solicitation

I'm afraid that performance could get out of hand.

Mission Objective(s)

The acoustics of this renovated warehouse are excellent. And the limited exits make it an ideal facility for imprisoning unwilling guests.

  • Save audience from Carnival
    • Seek clues, 8 people to save

You rescued the citizens from the Carnival of Shadows.

Carnival of Shadows

Notable NPCs

The audience member's story
One of the audience members you rescued from the Carnival of Shadows told you:

'It all started out as great fun! They asked for volunteers, hypnotized a few people. I was having a great time! There was this one guy who had been up on stage for hours. They made him quack like a duck, serve tea, and tell us about his first girlfriend. But after a while, his face started to go slack. And then he collapsed. Oh, Character, it's awful, but I think he's dead!'

Unmarked body
This body appears to be in perfect physical condition. There is nothing to explain how this man died.

Debriefing

The surviving audience members are reporting feelings of listlessness and confusion. They're not themselves. I wonder if that has anything to do with the man who wound up dead. The doctors can't find a thing wrong with him. If I had to guess, I'd say the Carnival has been drawing some sort of energy from their audiences. And it was enough to kill one of them.

Stop the battle between the Rikti and the Carnival

Briefing

Listen up, Character. I just heard that the Carnival of Shadows has invaded a Rikti base, and they're planning to massacre every single Rikti inside. Personally, I wouldn't be too sorry to see those two groups annihilate each other. But the base is close to a populated area in Brickstown, and neither of those groups has ever shown much respect for human life. If you can't stop the battle between the Rikti and the Carnival, it may endanger innocent civilians.

Mission Acceptance

You're the best, peaches. While you're over there, see if you can find out what started this little war.

Stop gang leaders and their crews

Unnecessary Solicitation

I need you to stop the violence at that Rikti base!

Mission Objective(s)

A malicious laugh is cut off in mid-chortle.

  • Stop leaders & their crews

One of the Carnival minions you defeated spat, 'You fool! We could have stopped them!'

Notes

  • Even though it isn't a stated mission objective, this mission cannot be completed until all enemies have been defeated.

Noteable NPCs

The carnie's story
One of the Carnival minions you defeated told you:

'You idiot! We could have stopped the Rikti! The Rikti have developed some sort of mutagenic serum. They're going to sneak it into the fertility drugs in storage over at Harvey Medical Center. Thousands of women will give birth to Rikti scum!'

Ambush! After exiting the mission, there will be an ambush by Carnies.

Find location of Rikti base

Unnecessary Solicitation

If that Carnival minion was telling the truth, the Rikti have to be stopped! We need to find their base, and quickly!

Mission Objective(s)

  • Find location of Rikti base
    • Defeat 45 Rikti

One of the Rikti soldiers you defeated was carrying a map.

Rikti map
Though most of the symbols on this map make no sense to you, you can make out the familiar terrain of Independence Port. A large black symbol seems to be a likely base location.

Defeat all villains in base

Unnecessary Solicitation

I need you to stop that Rikti plot!

Mission Objective(s)

A wild howl echoes through the corridors. It seems the Carnival has beaten you to the punch.

  • Defeat all villains in base
    • Destroy the Rikti serum

One of the Carnival minions you defeated gasped, 'The Carnival is the Rikti's greatest enemy. You are wrong to stand in our way!'

Enemies

Rikti
Carnival of Shadows

Notable NPCs

The Carnival's history
One of the Carnival minions you defeated told you:

'Ever since the Rikti arrived, the Carnival of Shadows has fought them. We were there in the first battles. Do you think Earth's heroes could have fought so well on their own? No! The Carnival was there, in their minds, guiding them to victory!'

Debriefing

If that carnie was telling you the truth, the Carnival of Shadows has been around for longer than we realized. It seems they may have actually had a hand in helping humanity win the Rikti War! If that's true, I suppose we should be grateful. But there's still one thing that puzzles me. The Carnival seems to be able to control most ordinary humans. Are the Rikti different in some way? Why can't the Carnival just make them go away?

Rescue Samson Grey from the Carnival

Briefing

Have you hear of Samson Grey, the famous track star? His agent just called me. Samson's gone missing, and the only clue was a floppy harlequin hat. You know what that means! The Carnival has Samson Grey, and I need you to go and rescue him!

Mission Acceptance

Samson's a fine and young man in the prime of his life. I'd hate to see anything happen to him.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Have you found Samson Grey yet?

Mission Objective(s)

This warehouse is one of the many the Carnival has purchased and renovated.

  • Defeat all carnies in warehouse

You defeated the Carnival of Shadows.

Enemies

Carnival of Shadows

Notable NPCs

Debriefing

After you brought Samson into custody, the doctors examined him. Character, it's the craziest thing! He can move, he can walk, he can even fight! But he isn't breathing. He's got no pulse, and his skin is ice cold. Character, I don't think those strong men are the Carnival's servants at all! I think they're reanimated corpses!

Stop the Carnival's thefts

Briefing

The Carnival has come up with a clever way of meeting expenses over in Peregrine Island. They pickpocket the citizens in broad daylight, then erase all memory of the thefts! Let me tell you, that makes it hard for the police to take a statement. I want these brazen thefts stopped, and I think you can do it. Are you willing to lend a hand?

Mission Acceptance

The Carnival's antics are at their worst over in Nelson Borough and Bayside Docks. But the whole zone could use a good clearing out.

Unnecessary Solicitation

I'm still hearing a lot of thefts reported in Peregrine Island.

Mission Objective(s)

  • Combat Carnival in Peregrine
    • Defeat 45 Carnies

You have discouraged the Carnival's thefts in Peregrine Island.

Debriefing

Thanks, Character. You did good work out there. The citizens of Peregrine Island can walk the streets in safety again, and the Carnival is short a few minions.

Stop the Carnival attack

Briefing

I just got a call from a Morrison Stocks & Bonds. Their office is under attack by those strange Carnival goons, and they're terrorizing everybody inside. I need you do get over to that office and stop the madness!

Mission Acceptance

What does the Carnival want with stockbrokers? That's what I want to know.

Stop all Carnies in Office

Unnecessary Solicitation

There are still people in danger over at Morrison Stocks & Bonds!

Mission Objective(s)

A voice cries, 'Make him crawl! Yeah, make him crawl!'

  • Stop all Carnies in Office
    • 2 people to rescue

You rescued the stockbrokers from the Carnival of Shadows.

Lester Morrison's story
When you rescued Lester Morrison from the Carnival of Shadows, he said:

'I went to one of their parties last week, and I think they read my mind! How else could they know what I was planning to do? I think they're on their way over to McGillicuddy Accounting now. I think they have plans for my wife.

Rescue Molly Morrison

Unnecessary Solicitation

It sounded as if Lester Morrison's wife was in danger. You should help her.

Mission Objective(s)

A painted message on one wall reads, 'Always look on the bright side of life.'

  • Rescue Molly Morrison

You rescued Molly Morrison.

Molly Morrison's Story
When you rescued molly Morrison from the Carnival of Shadows, she told you:

'They said my husband was planning to murder me, in order to increase the value of my artwork! I didn't want to believe it, but he has been distant ever since he lost a bundle funding my first gallery show. Modern art is so risky these days. The carnies said they would save my life, if I'd agree to join them. They said I had a real talent!'

Debriefing

So, Lester Morrison was planning to murder his wife, just so he could cash in on the increased value of her paintings? And somehow the Carnival found out! I don't like the Carnival much, Character, but today they helped you stop a hideous crime. One thing I don't understand, though: how did they know what Lester Morrison was planning? According to him, he never spoke of it to a single soul. Maybe the Carnival really can read minds!

Save the office workers from the Carnival

Briefing

I just got a call from the Buchman-Blackman office complex over in Founders' Falls. The Carnival of Shadows has invaded, and they're up to more than their usual parlor tricks. They've set up explosives! Somebody's got to get over there and defuse the situation. Are you up for the job, Character? You only have 75 minutes to stop the bombing. One more thing: the Carnival may be using an interconnected network of bombs. So I'd bring a couple of friends if I were you.

Mission Acceptance

I'll let them know you're on the way.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Have you stopped the Carnival from terrorizing those office workers yet?

Mission Objective(s)

You hear a voice remark, 'Now this! This is going to be art!'

  • Defeat all clowns in office (Timed, 75 minutes)
    • 5 workers left, 3 bombs left

Failure: The Carnival has done significant damage to the Buchman-Blackman office complex.
Success: +++ Missing Information +++

Failure: The good news is, everyone got out alive. The bad news is, they'll all be looking for new jobs. The building is gone, bombed into smithereens! The Carnival claims it's some sort of artistic statement, but personally, I think it's just appalling.

Success: +++ Missing Information +++
