== Emote Commands and the Quickchat Menu ==
The in-game [[Quickchat_(Slash_Command)|quickchat]] menu doesn't always show the emote command. Instead, it may give a more player-friendly description of the emote which in itself is not an alias of the command. Here are some examples:
* "'''Yada Yada Yada''' is '''/e yata'''
* "'''Chat'''" is '''/e talk'''
* "'''Giggle'''" is '''/e laugh2'''
* "'''Shake Head''' is '''/e no'''
* "'''You bow down!''' is '''/e bowdown'''
* "'''Bring It!''' is '''/e bringit'''
* "'''Talk to the Hand'''" is '''/e talk<u>to</u>hand'''
* "'''Neutral Stance'''" is '''/e idle1'''
* "'''Centre Stance'''" is '''/e idle2'''
* "'''Hands on Hips'''" is '''/e akimbo'''
* the [[Going Rogue]] stances are described as "Villain Stance 1", "Villain Stance 2", "Hero Stance 1" and "Hero Stance 2". The commands are actually '''/e stancevillain1''', '''/e stancevillain2''', '''/e stancehero1''' and '''/e stancehero2'''
{{bug|The apostrophe key, which is the default key for popping up the quickchat menu is currently broken and won't work for any binds. Overview
Emotes are short animations a player can use to express various body-language signals in-game. Some of them are purely for fun, and some are actually useful, such as the coin toss, the die, and the "rock/paper/scissors" to make decisions. Several of the emotes are accompanied by a sound, which is noted in the description below.
Emotes are called using the /emote slash command. It can be abbreviated /e, /em, or /me, and all four variations can be used in binds. In addition, when typing in the chat box, if the first thing typed is going to be the emote, /e may be replaced with the semicolon (;) and the name of the emote. For example, to burp you could either type /e burp
or ;burp
on the chat command line.
Some emotes have synonyms which carry out the same animation. Synonyms are listed in the "Aliases" column next to the more common word used as the emote in the list below.

Costume Change Emotes
Costume Change Emotes will change a character's costume while performing an obscuring animation (usually a flash). As with the costume change slash command, replace "#" with the numerical value of the costume slot to be changed to, from 0-4. To use the costume change emotes, the "/cce # <emote>" command needs to be used, e.g.
- /cce 3 CCBackflip
Notes:
- Costume change emotes are not case sensitive. CCBackflip works the same as ccbackflip or CCBACKFLIP - they are listed in this format here for visualization only.

Emote Commands and the Quickchat Menu
The in-game quickchat menu doesn't always show the emote command. Instead, it may give a more player-friendly description of the emote which in itself is not an alias of the command. Here are some examples:
- "Yada Yada Yada is /e yata
- "Chat" is /e talk
- "Giggle" is /e laugh2
- "Shake Head is /e no
- "You bow down! is /e bowdown
- "Bring It! is /e bringit
- "Talk to the Hand" is /e talktohand
- "Neutral Stance" is /e idle1
- "Centre Stance" is /e idle2
- "Hands on Hips" is /e akimbo
- the Going Rogue stances are described as "Villain Stance 1", "Villain Stance 2", "Hero Stance 1" and "Hero Stance 2". The commands are actually /e stancevillain1, /e stancevillain2, /e stancehero1 and /e stancehero2
Notes
- Although the protest signs are unreadable in the game, in the graphic file that is used as the texture, they are readable. They all say some variation of the following in a handwritten font (misspellings are deliberate):
- We are generaly discontent with our current situation & would like to show our discontentiveness publicly! (If that's OK with you)
- Emotes with "Flying" in the flying column have an alternate animation when used while flying (usually with dangling legs). Emotes with "Standing" will perform the normal standing animation while flying, treating the empty air as solid ground. Emotes with "No" in the flying column will not execute while flying.
Historical
- The Costume Change Emote, "/cce # CCNinjaLeap", was initially added to the game as "/cce # CCNinjaJump" while saying "Ninja Leap" in the costume picker window. This was changed about the time of Issue 18 without any patch notes indicating such, removing "CCNinjaJump" and implementing "CCNinjaLeap".
- The Costume Change Emote, "/cce # CCEnergyMorph", was initially added to the game as "/cce # CCPodPerson" while saying "Energy Morph" in the costume picker window. This was changed on July 15, 2010, removing "CCPodPerson" and implementing "CCEnergyMorph".
