Replica Rikti Sword

Alignment Mission

You find a replica Rikti Sword made of plastic. Whoever made it managed to match the same glow that the swords are known to have. Around the hilt you find a wrapped piece of paper. You open it up and read it over...

We've found the stash of Rikti supplies. They've got one of their bases deep beneath Paragon City, biding their time. If we hit it hard and fast, we can steal all the supplies and make a killing on the market! These things are going for a ridiculous amount; mainly since we bought the remaining supply and jacked up the prices. Anyway, here's the location. Whatever you do, don't lose the sword, we need it back to prove the deal was legit. Don't ask why, it's a weird buyer.

Whoever this sword was meant for clearly isn't around to use it anymore. And now, you've got a location of a supply of Rikti weapons that you could use to make a good amount of money on the market. Why not take advantage of the situation to make an easy dollar?

HERO: Sell off the Rikti weapons!

It's not necessarily criminal behavior to steal from the Rikti and sell their weapons off. Whoever is going to use them definitely won't be doing it to do something like invade this dimension. Unless it's being sold to Emperor Cole and his army. You'll just have to make sure that you're a little picky about who you're selling to.

  • Raid the Rikti and steal their supplies!

The hidden Rikti base appears to be nearby. You'll be doing Paragon a little favor by taking out this Rikti base, and you'll earn yourself some money on the side.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Don't take too long, or you might find someone else taking advantage of this situation!

Mission Objective(s)

You see signs of a furious battle along the walls. Something isn't right around here. You'll have to look around to see what's happening with those supplies.

  • Raid the Rikti Base!
    • Find anyone who might know what's happening
    • Find the Rikti Crate
    • Track down the man yelling for help

You weren't able to find your payday, but you did stop the Rikti from acting on a potentially large plot.

Notable NPCs

Dr. Advance dialogue

Before Combat:

Guardian: Future Status: Deceased
Dr. Advance: This is not one of my days...!

Combat Start:

Guardian: Interruption: Not appreciated
Dr. Advance: Character? What are you doing here?

Once Freed:

Dr. Advance: Thanks for the help!
Dr. Advance: There's some weird crate down a ways from here, the Rikti looked like they were trying to protect it!

Rikti Crate interaction

You find the Rikti crate, which will hopefully contain the weapon supplies that you're looking for.

  • (Crack open the crate)

You open the crate and see that there are no weapons, but instead small canisters of biological chemicals. Examining them, you get the sense that these chemicals are meant to do something very unfortunate to humans. Some of the images around the crate seem to suggest that they are used to infect humans to turn them into monstrous freaks, like the Lost!

  • (Look around for anything else of note)

You can't seem to find anything else that's just a simple plasma cannon or what not within the crate. All that's in there are chemical vials meant to transform normal human beings into sick, twisted creatures.
Selling this on the market is only going to come back to cause you problems, mainly when you're swarmed by whatever this chemical mutates! It's best if you destroy these now and ensure the city is safe enough for you to make some money in the future.

  • (Destroy the chemical crate)

You destroy the crate, and in the process hear someone yelling for help in the distance. Well... you are already here, and maybe it might be someone who has some money.

Civic Gravidian dialogue

Before Combat:

Infantry: Ranks: Bolstered
Civic Gravidian: You won't turn me into one of those Lost freaks!

Combat Start:

Infantry: Character: Bothersome
Civic Gravidian: Character?! I don't know why you're here, but give me a hand, please!

Once Freed:

Civic Gravidian: That was too close. They wanted to turn me into one of their monsters!

Debriefing

The two heroes you helped are long gone by now. Just goes to show how much thanks someone like you gets in this city.

At least you were able to stop the Rikti from turning regular people into monsters. You can rest easy knowing that people with a lot of money to spare are going to still be human; at least long enough to pay you a good amount of money for a job.
