CIT's main page sums up its purpose:

"This site was built with one focus, to allow you to keep track of the badges you have collected in City of Heroes™ and City of Villains™ . Loving both games and the ability to collect badges, we wanted a way to keep track of this. We started with a stand-alone program, but this was clumsy to update.
