While you and Grym were off in the cooker, Proton clued me in on some strange readings he found. He was going on about disruptions in space-time and whatnot, but the gist of it is that the same guys that showed up in Galaxy are popping in around the city.

Proton asked me to check out a nearby warehouse where he's been getting those readings, but I... well. I've got my own leads to work on. Anyway, I thought maybe you could check it out, see what's up. We need to find out why the, um...

Twinshot pauses uncomfortably for a moment.

...I guess you already know that those things were Praetorian, right?

  • Yes, I'm aware.

That's what I thought. Well, I'm damn sure they don't have a good reason for being here, and we need to know what they're after. I have a hunch or two, but any info you find could give us the inside edge, you know? Let me know what you find when you get back. I'm, ah...

Twinshot chokes up for a second. After a few moments, she recovers.

Ah. Well, I have fought Clockwork before, but not like these. Alone, my fists cannot damage their armor plating, and I am helpless.

But then, I am no longer alone.

  • Uh, what do you mean?

Your powers are obviously strong enough to defeat these... Clockwork. While I could not do such a thing by myself, I can certainly support you.

With your guidance, I could learn to strike their plating more effectively, and these unusual machines will learn to fear me. However, this can only be possible if I accompany you in your fight.

  • Wait, hold on. You're saying...

 Sidekicking and Exemplaring
When teaming up with other players of different levels, players can become Sidekicks or Exemplars so that they can fight at similar combat levels.

Sidekicking happens when a low-level player joins a high-level player's team. The low-level player becomes the team leader's Sidekick, and their combat level increases to the team leader's level minus one.
Example: A level 10 player that joins a level 30 team will become combat level 29 while they remain in that team.

Exemplaring happens when a high-level player joins a low-level player's team. Essentially the opposite of sidekicking, the high-level player (or Exemplar) has their combat level brought down to the team leader's level. Also, if the difference in levels is large enough, the Exemplar may temporarily lose access to some of their high-level powers.
Example: A level 30 player joining a level 10 team will become combat level 10 while they remain in that team. They will also lose access to any powers they gained after level 15 while they are part of that team.

Sidekicking and Exemplaring can allow players of different levels to play together as near-equals. But remember, after the team is disbanded, everyone's level returns to normal. Make sure you're in a safe place before you leave your team!

High Frequency Signal Transmitter
The tag on the underside of the High Frequency Signal Transmitter clearly indicated that it was purchased at the Cooke's Electronics store in Steel Canyon. This may warrant further investigation.
Box of Old-Fashioned Costume Parts
This box contained various costume pieces that look to be from bygone eras. The only people you could imagine wearing items like these would be, well, heroes like you.
Incriminating Receipts
After rummaging through the trash you found a number of receipts for esoteric, high-tech electronic gadgets, all of them referring to someone named Detective Martins as the purchaser.
Ambush! After gathering all pieces of evidence, you are ambushed by 3 waves of Praetorian Clockwork.

No Mind, huh? Never heard of him, but it sounds like you did right by him. It's good to see you've got some leadership skills, kiddo. I can't guarantee I'll be around forever, so I... well, let's just say it's good to see you taking charge when you need to. Anyway, what did you find?
