Definition

Purple Triangles (a.k.a. Purple Triangles of Doom)

1. Refers to a graphic that circles an Archvillain or Hero. This also includes Elite Bosses that have been downgraded from an Archvillain or Hero due to a lower Notoriety setting. When the triangles appear, the NPC has a higher level of resistance to all Mez effects giving them a High Magnitude, 50 points in general. (This includes Holds, Sleep, Knockback, Slow, Immobilize, etc.) When the triangles disappear, their Magnitude of resistance is dropped. For Archvillains and Heroes, their magnitude is dropped to 4 giving them the same resistance of a Boss. If they are downgraded to Elite Bosses, their magnitude is dropped to 6 giving them the same resistance as an Elite Boss.
