Overview
Issue 5, titled Forest of Dread, was a major revision to City of Heroes released on Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Some of the major features released in this issue were:
- The addition of the Croatoa zone
- The addition of The Cabal, the Fir Bolg, Red Caps and the Tuatha de Dannan enemy types
- Two new monsters were added to Croatoa: Jack in Irons and Sally. Eochai made a reappearance from the Halloween Event 2004
- The addition of the Archery, Trick Arrows, Sonic Blast, and Sonic Debuff powersets
- The addition of the Hellion Arson and Troll Rave zone events
- The reduction of debt while acquired inside missions, and the delay of debt acquisition for defeats until level 10
- The addition of kidnapping mission types and villain ambushes within missions
