Overview

While Rebirth Server strives for a "close to live" experience, development has not stopped and some gameplay changes have been made. Also Rebirth Server is based off the leaked Issue 24 beta. Therefore all official changes coded for Issue 24 before Black Friday also apply to Rebirth. Below is a list of all major gameplay changes that have occurred since Sunset. This list does not include every change, just the big ones likely to affect returning players from Live.


Issue 24 changes

  • Power Pool, Epic Power Pool, and Patron Power Pool f/x customization, including the much-requested minimal f/x option for Hasten.
  • New Secondary Power Sets for Blasters (Martial Combat) and Dominators (Martial Assault), which utilize a mix of Martial Arts powers and original ones.
  • Invention Procs will be converted from flat rates to Procs Per Minute (PPM). Additionally, the PPM mechanics will undergo significant adjustments.[1]
  • Snipe powers (such as Blazing Bolt and Sniper Blast) will lose the long, interruptable wind-up when the character has at least a 22% To Hit buff.
  • Tier 3 Blast powers (such as Blaze and Power Burst) that have traditionally had a 40 foot range will have their range increased to 80 feet.
  • All Blaster secondaries (except Mental Manipulation, which already has Drain Psyche) will have a modified power that grants the character additional buffs (typically both Regen and Recovery). All of these powers will be changing names as a result. No functionality will be taken away.
  • Blast Set Nuke powers are being adjusted. The endurance crash is being removed and recharge is being decreased. Damage is being normalized, average damage will go down a bit but the damage is now (mostly) a fixed amount rather than a number of "chance to damage" ticks.
  • Cross-Cut added as a fifth fighting power (very similar to Sweeping Cross in Street Justice)
  • Brawl, Boxing, Kick and Cross-Cut all have increased effects based on the number of Fighting pool attacks you own.
  • Challenge is replaced with Pacify, a single target Placate power
  • Intimidate has its endurance cost reduced and is increased to mag 3 with a chance for mag 4
  • Invoke Panic has its endurance cost reduced, it's accuracy and range increased and its magnitude increased to 3
  • Unrelenting added as fifth prescence power. A damage, recharge, recovery and heal over time effect on self, also doubles as a self-rez.
  • Misdirection added as a fifth concealment power, an AoE Placate and resistance debuff
  • Victory Rush added as a Fifth leadership power, it targets a defeated enemy and gives a Recovery and Endurance Reduction buff to you and your team.
  • Stimulant is changed to Injection, is no longer interruptable and can be used on both allies and foes. When used on an ally this has its normal effect. When used on a foe it debuffs their Recharge, Damage and To Hit.
  • Field Medic added as fifth medicine oower, a click power that improves the effectiveness of your heals and decreases your resistance to healing (so that heals done to you are more effective). In addition if you own Field Medic Aid Other and Aid Self get a bonus:
  • Aid Other is uninterruptible
  • Aid Self gives an Endurance Over Time effect
  • Additional Lore pet options: Banished Pantheon, Knives of Vengeance, Talons of Vengeance and Tsoo.
  • New story arcs related to the aftermath of the Magisterium Trial. Level 30+ Heroes help Provost Marchand (Primal Earth) with events in Brickstown, level 30+ Villains see Mr. G (Primal Earth) in St. Martial, and Incarnates should seek out Number Six in the Rikti War Zone.
  • Overhaul of the Paladin zone event in King's Row.
  • addition of The Family Raid Event in St. Martial.
  • addition of Prison Break Event in Brickstown.

QoL Changes

  • All Accounts granted free V.I.P. status
  • Paragon Market removed, all items and costume pieces that were exclusive to it are now automatically granted. (Any item that was available from Paragon Market but were able to be earned in game, like the Vanguard armor sets, are still able to be earned in game.)
  • Paragon Reward tokens given out every week instead of every month. All accounts receive eight free Paragon Rewards tokens granted on account creation. Additional tokens granted when an account has been logged into and loads into a zone map at least once per week.
  • Auction House slots increased
  • SG Base rent based on plot size
  • Day Job Badges award after 5 days logged out time instead of 24
  • All members of team granted credit for completing missions that unlock TF's, not just leader
  • The "experienced" temp power cooldown reduced from 2 hours to 5 minutes
  • Task Force contacts can be called after the first mission
  • Only 4 players needed to start all Task Forces
  • Architect Entertainment ticket cap increased to 99,999
  • New command shortcuts added for easier macros

  • Ice sword animations added for all Ice Melee powers

  • Fiery binds customization option for fire holds
  • Flyposes can now be set in power customization.
